Eastern Star Patient Comfort Program

The Order of the Eastern Star members have been making cancer dressings for more than 60 years. We provide these dressings to cancer patients free of charge to ease their pain and improve their quality of life. Over time, the Patient Comfort Program (formerly known as Cancer Dressing Stations) evolved to make other patient comfort items. These are distributed through nonprofit charitable organizations that serve patients in need. The Patient Comfort Program provides gowns, Cathi Caps (invaluable to chemotherapy patients who have lost their hair), lap robes, adult bibs, and quilts for kids’ cancer camps. Each item is labeled with a small tag that reads "Made with loving hands by the order of the Eastern Star."

Port Pals:  Port Pals are individual small pillows to cover a IV port when driving using a seat belt.  It gently  covers the port and allows for seat belt comfort.  Instructions for Port Pals may be downloaded:

Individual Pillow Instructions  /  Port Pal Create-a-Kit Instructions   /   Port Pal Blitz (group sewing) Instructions
